IT HAS been great to be given an opportunity in the NatWest T20 Blast this year and I am loving it.

Getting injured early last year and missing so much cricket was tough and it’s taken a lot of hard work to get fit again but I am feeling back to my best now.

I have been pleased to contribute in the T20 and One-Day competitions and I am working hard to try and win my place back in the four-day team.

Playing in front of bigger crowds in the T20s has been great. We had 6,000 at Arundel against Sussex on Sunday, and to play in front of 12,000 at the Brightside Ground against Somerset was awesome.

It was my first taste of playing in front of that many and it was great to be out there and to try and put on a show. I like to think that I can rise to the occasion and perform under pressure. I just tried to keep it simple and execute my skills.

It has been great to have someone like Andrew Tye in the dressing room to pick his brains about bowling in T20s as he is playing at the level I am aspiring to reach. I watched a lot of the Big Bash the last couple of years and to have one of the best bowlers in that competition in our team has been great.

Against Somerset I came up against Chris Gayle. I couldn’t believe how big he was in person- it was quite intimidating – but I was really pleased to start with a maiden against him.

I also managed to only go for one in my first over against Sussex so it is going ok with the new ball. I am just trying to get it to swing early on, hot a decent length and look to tuck the batter up and thankfully its working at the moment.

Gayle won’t be down at Taunton on Friday so that might make it a bit easier but we won’t be taking Somerset lightly.

The boys are feeling really confident at the moment. You can get on a roll in the T20 and we have won every match away from home so hopefully we can keep it going.

We have got six group games left and I think another three wins would pretty much guarantee us qualification for the quarter finals – two might even be enough.

We have won our last three matches and hopefully we can make it four in a row against Somerset.

I am expecting the crowd at Taunton will be pretty rowdy but I am looking forward to it.
