GLOUCESTER CITY will meet Cheltenham in the Gloucestershire Bowls County Fours final after dispatching Dursley with an end to spare in the semis at Sir Thomas Rich’s B.C.

The City quartet of Danny Allsopp, Simon Allsopp, Derek Thorpe and Steve Allsopp were up against Brian Burleigh, Dave Smith, Chris Livall and Keith Hinder, and took an early 7-3 lead after bagging a four and a two on the fourth and fifth ends.

Not to be outdone, however, Dursley struck back with consecutive threes to lead 9-7.

City scored another four and knocked the stuffing out of Dursley with two three’s to go 17-9 up at the midpoint of the match.

Dursley clawed their way back with a three and a single to close the gap to four.

However, 13 proved to be an unlucky number as they were marooned on the total for five consecutive ends, while City scored another four and four two’s to leap into a 29-13 lead.

City, despite losing the next three ends, took their place in the final.
