WITH Kingsway parkrun cancelled a smaller than usual number of Dursley Running Club managed a parkrun on Saturday.

Garry Strickland was fastest DRC parkrunner with 21:11 at Chipping Sodbury, with an impressive age grade of 71.3% and 3rd in his category, Julie Froggatt was second VW50 and Eileen Hieron again posted an impressive age grading of 76.03% to pace first VW70 with husband John first VM70.

Neil Malpass, Louise Biddell and John Hieron all recorded course bests, they could not surpass their parkrun best achieved at Kingsway earlier in the year.

The following day saw the Gloucester 10K road race.

Weather conditions were less than idea a combination of high humidity and a strong wind. Dursley were led home by Tom Smith who placed 33rd improving his personal best by two minutes, and placing 14th senior a good result for this young Dursley athlete, and is a foundation upon which he can build.

Steve Barnes achieved an excellent 4th MV60 running comfortably under the hour running his second event on consecutive days. Walk2Run graduate Amy Griffiths ran her first ever 10K having joined the programme as a non-runner she was supported by fellow Walk2Run graduates Hannah Norman and Hannah Butcher.
