WOTTON'S Adam Harris, the AMCA two-stroke British champion for the last four years, has, this year, decided to take part in the AMCA mx1 Championship mixing with the big boys.

He is the the only 250cc Yamaha two-stroke rider there while all other riders are on four-stroke engines.

So far, he has had five mixed rounds, some good and some bad but he’s going well and lies tenth overall at the moment with two rounds left.

The next round takes place on August 7 at the Brookthorpe track in Gloucestershire.

Also, back in June, a dream came true when he was able to take part in the European EMX300 Championship that was also part of the World mxgp/mx2 Championship in Hampshire.

In that event, race one saw him lose sixth place after crashing which left him almost last and a lot to do.

But he managed to get himself back to finish in 19th which was a little disappointing.

Race two started well as he got out of the gate in fifth and held on well before finishing in tenth place and a respectable 17th place overall.

This weekend will see Harris off to Lommel in Belgium to take part in the next round of the EMX300.

Harris said that he is feeling excited although a little nervous as this competition is on a deep sand track while he is more of a hard-pack surface specialist.

However, he has been doing a lot of sand training over the last few weeks and hopes that it will pay off for him in this competition.
