WEEK 13 of the Slimbridge Summer Skittle League; sponsored by Marstons Brewery saw the Unknowns end their six match losing streak with a 16-pin victory over league leaders Geriatrics

In a game without any spares being hit, it was the winners who opened up a 17-pin first half lead, despite trailing in the first three legs. Ian Lyons hit 62 for the winners to see them take the lead.

The second half followed a similar pattern with the geriatrics leading for the first three legs. going in to the final leg the Unknowns lead by 4-pins, however with Howard Stockman scoring 64 for the Geriatrics the Unknowns needed 26 to take maximum points.

Despite getting off to a good start they weren't quite able to achieve this, falling two pins short to lose the half by a solitary pin but taking four points by winning the game.

Shake Hands kept the pressure on the third placed Unknowns as they took maximum points in their58-pin victory over Slimbridge RBL. The first half saw the winners race away to a 48-pin lead with Phil Langdown hitting a 14-spare in his score of 59.

Slimbridge RBL started off the second half with a 21-pin leg and trailed by 10-pins; however despite this they did their best to claw their way back into the game. Trudy Barnfield hit a 14-spare; followed two legs later with a 13-spare in her total of 66, however with Robert Sims scoring 70; his total including a 15-spare; they were unable to reduce the deficit and lost the half by 10-pins.

Cambridge Crew recorded their fourth win for the season as they defeated the Bowmen by 19-pins; leaving their opponents sitting on the foot of the table.

Despite trailing in the first two legs they opened up a narrow lead in the third leg; eventually winning the half by 11-pins.

The second half saw the eventual winners take a first half lead which they never lost. Steve Tilley hit a 13-spare in his score of 60; whilst Rob Wytchard hit a 9-spare. Despite Alan Dimery hitting 59 for the Bowmen; hit total including a 14-spare; they were unable to claw back the deficit, losing the half by 8-pins.
