ROVERS gained a valuable point on Saturday after securing a 1-1 draw at Bradford City.

A draw was a good return at a side that has made a strong start to the league campaign and looks likely to be competing for at least a play-off spot.

The game had stayed goal-less until the 73rd minute when the Bantams took the lead.

Before that, the main talking point had been the withdrawal of the players from the field of play for a short while a drone had been hovering over the stadium.

Referee Andy Haines made the decision to take the players off for their own safety but the delay only lasted for three minutes.

After Bradford took the lead, it looked like it could be tough for the Pirates to get anything out of the match, but just like last season, this group of players do not accept they are beaten and showed great character to recover.

They were boosted by the arrival of Chelsea loanee Colkett from the bench in the 78th minute and he continued his fine form by scoring his first league goal.

Harrison was causing havoc in the penalty area which gave Colkett the chance to get the equaliser with a well-taken left foot shot.

Roos ensured we returned home with a point with an excellent save in injury time.

The contest showed Rovers are gradually finding their feet at this level and the display increased hopes that we will soon be turning draws into wins.

Although it was a decent point, the draw saw the Gas slip into the relegation zone.

They bounced back at Swindon Town on Tuesday night, winning 2-1 at the home of their rivals despite conceding an early goal.

A Taylor penalty and an own goal late in the second half saw Rovers clinch all three points and rise to 15th in the table.

Next up for Rovers is a clash with Port Vale at the Mem on Saturday (kick-off 3pm) followed by a trip to Sheffield United on Tuesday with a 7.45pm kick-off.
