Cotswold Edge Golf Club news

AUTUMN has certainly arrived at Cotswold Edge Golf Club with members having to battle the elements as well as the course.

Richard Rogers and Pete Teasdale took the honours in the Men’s Winter Foursomes and now go through to the national Daily Mail Foursomes competition.

They won the pairs strokeplay competition with an under par nett 68.5 from Warren Pendred and Tim Griffiths 73.5 and Shaun Chappell and Paul Blackwell 74.5. Colin Stokes did well to return a one over par 72 in the Midweek Medal in very blustery conditions.

The Annual B Team Trophy, a stableford pairs competition was won by Steve Alvis and Gary Swift with 45 points and Shaun Chappell won the Player of the Year award. Michelle Craker, Debbie Pringle and Julie Paulett enjoyed the Autumn Bowmaker competition at Minchinhampton Old Course, a team stableford competition between clubs throughout the county, coming third overall with 67 points.

There was a good turn out for the Seniors Texas Scramble, a fourball strokeplay competition with Ray Dean, James Barnes, Roger Fay and Roger Johnson winning with a nett 51 on countback from Terry Read, John Anderson, Brian Hazeldine and Mike Morris followed by Steve Leach, John Wright, Tony Wheeler and Martin Harris 51.5.
