Berkeley Division 2
Wotton Ladies 2nd 1 Avonmouth 1st 2
WOTTON started the game well with some good attacking play. However, Avonmouth broke away taking them into an early lead.
Wotton then stepped up the play and maintained most of the possession in the first half. Player-of-the-match Cessy Tyne created brilliant attacking play through the middle, passing it wide allowing Rhiannon Holt to make strong runs down the right wing.
With Wotton's determination and display of skill, a goal came for the team. Anna Read made a strong run down the wing crossing it to Victoria McCuaig would smacked it into the goal to take it to 1-1 at half time.
Avonmouth came out strong in the second half but Wotton displayed great defensive play with Deb Dunham showing great strength and skill along with Kathleen Burden helping to prevent the opposition’s attacking play.
In a goal-mouth scramble, Avonmouth scored another goal towards the end of the second half however, taking the final score to 2-1.
