Kingswood 3 Tuffley Rovers 3 (Kingswood win 3-0 on penalties)

KINGSWOOD can hold their heads high after they grabbed an excellent giant-killing victory over Tuffley Rovers who are in two divisions above the home side.

The Gloucestershire County team won on penalties against Tuffley Rovers, who are in the Hellenic League Premier Division, after the final score finished 3-3 after 90 minutes.

Mark Pritchett gave Tuffley the lead with a header on seven minutes but five minutes later Gary Simmons levelled from a breakaway.

Kingswood took the lead on 42 minutes when Ryan Mudd headed home a Josh Stokes corner. Luke Chappell cleared off the line on 53 minutes and then in the 62nd minute, Tuffley Rovers were reduced to ten men when Shane Bradley received a red card for a foul on keeper Chris Fox.

Tuffley levelled on 73 minute with a scrambled goal from Warren Mann and then Pritchett headed the visitors into the lead on 82minutes.

The home side pulled level right on time from a low cross driven across the six yard box by Adam Eldridge and Tuffley defender Tunnicliffe deflected the ball into his own net.

That set up the penalty shoot-out which saw Chris Fox, the Kingswood goalkeeper, become the hero of the hour.

In the penalty shoot out, Kingswood goalkeeper Chris Fox stepped up to the mark and brought off two great saves that eventually helped Kingswood win 3-0 on penalties.
