CITY have had a disappointing week on their travels with defeats at Cardiff City last Friday night and QPR on Tuesday night.

In truth, neither performance has been good enough to warrant all three points.

However, by the same token, we probably deserved a point in each game particularly at Cardiff.

It was a bad time to be playing the Bluebirds with new manager Neil Warnock having been appointed during the international break. He does have a knack of galvanising teams and also brought in players like Hoilett and Bamba who both played well on the night, especially Bamba.

Warnock certainly managed to get the home fans fired up and with over two thousand travelling fans from Bristol there was a very good atmosphere inside the stadium.

We could have no complaints with the award of a penalty to the home side on 25 minutes as Bryan clearly brought Noone to the ground, although Lee Johnson was convinced there was an offside in the lead-up to the incident.

City should have had a penalty early in the second half when Reid was brought down in the area but bizarrely the referee awarded a free kick to the home side. Cardiff’s second came shortly after as Bamba bundled in from close-range.

But City struck back straightaway when Tomlin fired in an effort from 25 yards. City pressed hard in the final ten minutes and Reid had a wonderful opportunity to level proceedings but instead fired over the bar from just a few yards out.

On Tuesday evening at QPR Lee Johnson bemoaned another refereeing decision as The R’s winner from Sylla also appeared to be from an offside position.

Sylla's goal for QPR was fine on review, but there was blunder when Lee Tomlin had a first half goal disallowed which was actually onside.

As with the Cardiff game, City created the better chances on the night though the home team certainly created more chances overall.

City must look to get back to winning ways against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday (3pm) with another crowd in excess of 20,000 expected at the redeveloped Ashton Gate.
