Berkeley League Division Three
Dursley Ladies 4 Knowle 2nds1
AN excellent first half saw Dursley reach the half way point of their league programme on a high with their seventh win out of eight matches played.
Maddie Tuck went close with an early shot and Pip Spyvee looked dangerous before Amber Coombes put Dursley ahead.
Leanne Smith doubled the score with a shot which the visiting keeper just failed to keep out. Dursley contained the Knowle attack well and keeper Hayley Able had little to do. Ayley Booth, back after a week’s break, scored Dursley’s third before half time.
After the break, Knowle came more into the game but Dursley still made chances with Coombes and Spyvee going close. Eventually Coombes scored the home teams fourth with an excellent goal taking the ball beyond the keeper and hitting a reverse stick into the net from an acute angle. Knowle forced four short corners and scored from the last of these with a hard shot from the edge of the D through a crowded goalmouth.
Captain Stacey Smith had a pre-wedding break.
Dursley look forward to continue their form in the New Year.
