GLOUCESTERSHIRE head coach Richard Dawson was delighted by his side's attitude as they smashed Leicestershire in the Specsaver County Championship second division inside three days.

Gloucestershire, who saw Liam Norwell take ten wickets in the match, won by an innings and six runs at the Brightside Ground in Bristol.

And after they were hammered themselves at Kent in the first match of the Championship last week, Dawson was happy at the response from his side.

He said; "We wanted to bounce back after last week's defeat againsst Kent and we have done that.

"The performance was exactly what we asked for and what the players wanted.

"The really pleasing aspect is that we had a handful of players who have made match winning contributions in the game, with bat and ball. We scored a lot of runs with the bat and we had a number of bowlers who took wickets.

"I thought we bowled really well today again - that's Liam and the other lads too. When you take early wickets as we did in their second innings, you put yourself in a very good position.

"I felt it was a seriously good Championbship wicket and to have playd that well on it, is very pleasing indeed."
