Stinchcombe Stragglers Old Boys v Cam 4ths
STINCHCOMBE Stragglers Old Boys played their first home game of the season against local rivals Cam fourths and came away with a good seven-wicket victory.
Stragglers won the toss and on an overcast afternoon elected to field, which looked like to be a mistake as the Cam openers raced to 30-0 after five overs.
The Stragglers then took control back with tight bowling from Harrold (four wickets), Scott (three wickets) and with regular wickets falling Cam completed their forty overs on 116-9.
The Stragglers run chase started badly with some poor shot selections leaving them in trouble on 11-3 after five overs.
Webb and Collard steadied the ship and kept the wicket count to three and the scoreboard slowly ticking over up the twenty over mark.
Webb (70 not out) and Collard (28 not out) then increased the scoring rate after the drinks break and comfortably completed the run chase with nine overs and seven wickets to spare.
This was an excellent team performance by the Stragglers and, on Saturday, they travel to Hawkesbury Upton second team
