Gloucestershire women having found themselves on a high three days earlier beaten Oxfordshire found themselves on the wrong end of a 138-112 loss to Leicestershire at Cheltenham Spa B.C in the Middle England League.
What promised some much fell away from the 15th end when leading overall 91-82 and winning five out of the six rinks, they proceeded to lose those five rinks and ended up suffering a whitewash.
Jill Forward, Elaine Lewis (Redland Green), Val Major and Iona Bird who pulled back from 15-10 down by scoring a six on the 16th end ended up going down 23-21 to S.Sharpe.
Sally Rolls, Chris Prosser (both Gloucester Spa), Julia Stannard and Rachel Hughes having been in the lead for 18 ends leading 19-16 against C. Massie then suffered a 22-20 defeat.
Val Osmond, Veronica Richie, Jean Crook, Jacky Howes (Stroud) having ground out a 15-13 lead against D. Hurst could only manage a further three shots as their opponents scored eight to win 21-18.
Jenny Westlake, Maryan Pye (Caer Glow), Jackie Ind and Kay Gent up against J. Bontoft where leading 17-13 before being caught and overtaken to fall to a 22-18 defeat.
