South Gloucestershire Under 12 Boys v Cheltenham and Cotswold Under 12 Boys (at Chalford CC),

South Gloucestershire 106-9 (30 overs) Cheltenham and Cotswolds 107-8 (23.2 overs) Cheltenham and Cotswolds won by six wickets

Cheltenham and Cotswold Under 12s scraped home to a two wicket win over Stroud and South Gloucestershire (SSG) U12s after chasing down their target of 107 in the 23rd over.

A composed 30 not out from Charlie Brook (Cirencester) helped his side recover from 77-7 to get over the line in the face of some great SSG bowling.

Earlier SSG batted first and never really recovered from the early blow of being reduced to 7-2 thanks to two wickets for Brook (2-9).

Tom King (15) (Carsons & Magotsfield) fought hard but SSG looked dead and buried at 62-9 as Harry Dawson (2-11) (Cheltenham) and two run outs contributed to the home sides woes.

But a tenth wicket partnership of 43 between Jacob Moore (17) (Painswick) and Harry Ahearne (Cirencester) (20) meant SSG battled back to post a defendable 105-9.

In reply C&C lost an early wicket but recovered through Harry Brownless (22) (Cirencester) and Alfie Griffin (14) (Charlton Kings).

But from 40-3, C&C collapsed to 77-7 with Caden Harris (2-19) (Winterbourne) the pick of the bowlers . However despite excellent bowling from the home attack Brooks held his nerve to lead his side to victory in the 24th over.

SSG U12s have now won one and lost one while Cheltenham and Cotswold U12s have won both their games so far. The next round of fictures takes place on bank holiday Monday with SSG taking on Gloucester and the Forest of Dean and C&C playing Bristol.
