IT was an early start this week for Cotswold Edge Golf Club members for their Dawn Chorus.
The sun shone brightly and some very impressive scores were returned in the stableford competition.
Andy Cocking won the Men’s trophy with FORTY points followed by Dave Ash and Martyn Williams both with 38. Mel Lee took the honours for the ladies with 38 points ahead of Sue Reid 35 and Lin Cocking 33. All competitors enjoyed a hearty breakfast after their round.
The Seniors Medal was well supported, Pete Skinner scored a nett 69 and was rewarded with a 2 shot handicap cut. Division 1: Keith Stokes on count back from Willie Cruickshank both with nett 70 and Charlie Gale 72; Division 2: Pete Skinner 69, Cliff Coles 72 and Tom Baird 76.
Mel Lee won the Ladies Kitcat stableford Qualifier with 37 points from Megan Mills 36 and June Hanson 35. The top six ladies now go forward to play in the Final at Puckrup on 14th September.
