BRISTOL City face a difficult first month in the Championship after the fixtures for the new season were revealed on Wednesday monring.

City kick-off thier campaign at home to Barnsley but then face Birmingham City away, Brentford away, Millwall at Ashton Gate and a huge game at home to Aston Villa all in the first four weeks.

And they have a home clash with Reading on Boxing Day followed by the return against Aston Villa on New Year's Day.

They play relegated Premiership side Sunderland away on October 28 and face back-to-back clashes with the other two ex-Premiership clubs Hull City and Middlesbrough on November 25 and December 2 respectively.

The final game is at home to Sheffield United on May 6.
