IT was another busy weekend for Dursley Running Club.

Humphs Hilly Half took place in the sweltering heat of Saturday afternoon, with a huge climb in the first mile.

Four Dursley Running Club athletes rose to the challenge with Mike Brown continuing his good form with a 96 minute run that brought him home 21st overall and fourth senior male.

As ever, DRC did well in the age categories with Dave Saunders second M65-plus, Annette Heylings fourth F60-plus, Andy Kilby seventh MV60 and Steve Barnes ninth M60.

Results: Mike Brown 21st 01:36:09 (4th SenM); Dave Saunders 60th 01:57:28 (2nd MV65+): Andy Kilby 112th 02:15:16 (7th MV60) Annette Heylings 131st 02:27:31 (4th F60+); Steve Barnes 136th 02:32:07 (9th MV60) Sunday saw the Cheltenham Challenge with a range of events from 5k to half marathon.

Steve Watson came off his Lakeland adventure to endure totally different weather conditions, with high temperatures again making it very challenging for the runners.

Steve ran well completing the course in an excellent time of 01:56:12, Andy Hara 02.07.00, Shona Darley 02:50:03 with Julie Froggatt also completing the course.

Angie Sinton completed her first official race at the Cheltenham Challenge 10K raising an amazing £1,120.29 for Prostate Cancer UK in memory of her husband Martin, who passed away in March.

On a hot Saturday morning, there was just the one personal best at parkrun, but just getting around was hard enough.

Liz Halford delivered the club's PB, and Luke Davis, a DRC junior, was first home for DRC at Wotton.

At Kingsway, Anne Harris was just a second of a PB and first home in 22:35mins, with Cath Hall supported to the finish by Sarah Willcox.

Terry Clother and Ian Cole were first timers to park run.
