KINGSWOOD'S two-year reign as Pratt 20 Over Cup holders is well and truly over after two heavy defeats by North Nibley and Oldbury on Severn.
Nibley`s 155 all out in the 20th over (John Holcombe 43, Ben Evans 20 and Rich Townsend 37) proved enough, even though the scrambled run outs of the last three batsmen suggested Nibley did not think so.
It was more than enough. Ben Evans (4-8), Ed Holcombe (2-9) and Sam Cook (2-6) rushed out Kingswood`s batsmen in the gloom for just 55, a 100 run win.
Kingswood fared little better at Oldbury on Severn. Kevin Morgan`s 52 (retired), Callum Niddrie`s 17 and Angus McCubbin`s ten were the only double figure scores in the below par 101-8, Owen Dawkins, the Gloucestershire coach`s 4-8 doing the main damage.
Kingswood`s chances had gone after two overs of Oldbury`s innings. With 27 on the board, Oldbury were a quarter of the way there.
Two wickets to Callum Niddrie in the third over and a mean spell of slow left arm from Vince Taylorr gave hope but a rapid 52* from Dawkins saw Oldbury home by eight wickets in the 15th over.
