Gloucestershire Northern Senior League round-up
BERKELEY Town are second in the Gloucestershire Northern Senior League first division after they beat Taverners 3-1 on Saturday.
It may be only one game gone, but it is a good start from Berkeley whose goals came via two from Daniel Gayner and one from Aaron Nash, having been drawing 1-1 at the interval.
Sharpness were also 3-1 winners as they beat FC Barometrics at home. Sam Strickland struck twice for Sharpness, with Thomas Paterson getting the other.
But, in yet another 3-1 result, Cam Bulldogs suffered a reverse in their opening match of the campaign as they went down to Bilbury despite leading 1-0 at half-time.
This Saturday, Sharpness are in Reg Davis Cup action at home to Falcons, while Berkeley Town and Cam Bulldogs square up to each other in the league for the first big derby of the season at Berkeley’s Station Road ground at 3pm.
