Cam 2nds 110-5 beat Arcadians NineElms 109 ao by five wickets
CAM seconds have put themselves within striking distance of promotion from Gloucestershire County League division seven after a five wicket victory over Arcadians NineElms on Saturday.
Cam are third in the table and four points ahead of Down Hatherley and 37 points behind second placed Charlton Kings seconds in the second of the promotion spots.
Arcadians NineElms batted first and made 109 all out in 25 overs which was not a great target to defend.
Cam seconds lost openers Matt Tipper and wicketkeeper George Parrott cheaply but skipper Chris Wilcox stepped in at number four and, with support from Matt Hiller (17), Hardik Shah (12) and William Payne (15 not out) remained at the crease to make an unbeaten 39 and guide Cam to a five wickets victory.
