Gloucestershire County Women’s League Division One
Forest of Dean Ladies 4 Dursley Town Ladies 2
DURSLEY Town Ladies came back empty-handed from their long trip to Ellwood after seeing the opening game of the season slip away in a 15-minute period prior to half-time.
Town went ahead midway through the first half thanks to Alex Gwyther’s long-range effort, but Forest of Dean quickly equalised and went on to lead 3-1 at the break.
The home side added a fourth goal on the hour mark before Dursley struck again ten minutes later when substitute Becky Allen fired a 20-yard shot in off the post.
And the result might have been closer still had either Kirstie Turl or Zoe Gabb been able to turn the ball home when corners dropped to them inside the box.
Dursley: S Hill; R Rocke, C Gabb, C Uzzell; E Allen, S Lawrence, V Mansell, Z Gabb; M Watson; J Brown, A Gwyther. Rolling substitutes: B Allen, L Stone, K Turl.
