COTSWOLD Edge Golf Club captain Gary Swift won the Junior Professional Trophy this week with junior player Jasper Hibbitt, son of the Pro Rod.

A greensomes stableford competition the pair scored 42 points ahead of father and son team of Rich and Lewis Smith, who scored 39 followed by Warren Pendred and Tom Cranwell who managed to gain 38 points.

Steve Leach carded an under par 69 to win the Seniors September Medal and Neville Young Trophy, earning himself a two-shot handicap cut. Division 1: Steve Leach 69, Richard Rogers 72 and Kenny Hibbitt 75; Division 2: Barrie Roberts 75, Pete Martin 76 and Barrie Humphries 77.

Meanwhile, the mixed friendly team competition welcomed Naunton Downs on a lovely autumnal day. It was a close match with everyone enjoying good company and a lovely meal in the clubhouse afterwards and the home team were pleased with their 4.5-3.5 win.

Unfortunately the seniors friendly team came off second best in their re-arranged fixture at Chippenham, losing 5.5-1.5.
