Stroud Charity Cup Section A Quarter-Final
Dursley Town 1 Quedgeley Wanderers 5
DURSLEY Town endured another morale-sapping afternoon as their Charity Cup campaign was brought to an emphatic end by Quedgeley at the Rec last Saturday.
The result means Town have now failed to win any of their ten games in 90 minutes so far this season – their two victories coming via penalty shootouts.
Sammy Coxhead gave Northern Senior Two’s bottom side the lead, but Quedgeley, second-bottom of the division above, were comfortably ahead by half-time.
The visitors eventually scored five goals and Dursley’s miserable afternoon was capped when they lost goalkeeper Matt Turl to a nasty-looking knee injury late on.
Dursley: M Turl; M Workman, P Lyon, L Bendall; S Pearson, P Miles, J Dolbear, J Minett, S Miles; S Coxhead, N Vines. Rolling substitutes: A Griffith, C Leech.
Goal: Coxhead.
* Neither Dursley Reserves nor Dursley Ladies had a game last weekend.
