FRAMPTON United’s Ryan McDonald is likely to be out for the rest of the Gloucestershire County League season after suffering a badly damaged cruciate ligament injury on Saturday.
Frampton’s away game against Henbury was stopped after 24 seconds when McDonald suffered his injury, believed to have been caused when landing from a jump for the ball.
An ambulance was called for the stricken player, who could not be moved from the pitch on advice from the emergency services, but did not arrive before half-time.
At that time, the referee decided to abandon the match which will have to be re-arranged.
Frampton United secretary Nick Peacey said: “Everyone at the club wishes Ryan a speedy recovery.
