Wotton-under-Edge 4ths 1 Cirencester C 4
WOTTON-under-Edge men’s fourths travelled to Cirencester with eleven players.
After a slow start, Wotton found themselves 2-0 down after the first five minutes.
By the half-time whistle, Cirencester had scored again.
Both teams created lots of chances in the first half, but sadly Wotton’s efforts went unrewarded.
After a positive half-time talk, Wotton came out attacking.
Both teams again created many chances and Tom Cranwell’s mesmerising runs were finally rewarded with a flick.
Alan George volunteered to take the flick, however he saw his corner-bound effort saved by a flying Cirencester keeper.
Unbowed, Wotton pushed on with a goal finally coming from a fine finish at the back post by Barry Topham.
The fourth team pushed forward looking for goals and creating more chances.
Unfortunately, Cirencester counter attacked in the last minute and scored their fourth goal.
