FOREST GREEN boss Mark Cooper felt an individual error denied his side a shock win at League Two leaders Notts County.

Rovers looked odds on for only their second victory of the season until goalkeeper Sam Russell allowed Rob Milsom’s 96th-minute stoppage-time header to squirm into the net.

"Everyone can see the mistake for the goal, probably the softest header that you’ve seen here and it ends up in the back of the net," said Cooper.  "That’s what it is at the moment and we deserved to win the game, but we have got a point and we take that into the game against Newport next Saturday.

“The goalkeeper (Sam Russell) hasn’t had a save to make until he was called upon, so that tells you something about the game.”

Cooper felt his side failed to take the most of their opportunities and felt Omar Bugiel should have nodded in a second goal after giving his side a first-half lead.

"I have just given Omar some shampoo and told him next time not to worry and head it in the goal, and I will give him some shampoo to wash his hair.”

Rovers have climbed off the bottom and out of the bottom two, but Cooper wants his side to cut out individual errors and turn good performances into wins.

He said: “The ability is there and fighting spirit, but we keep going back to individual mistakes and we make another one today. We have had three good performances and we have to make it four next week."
