Stroud League Division Four
Dursley Town Res 1 Avonvale United 5
DURSLEY Town Reserves conceded three goals in the final 20 minutes to put an unfortunate slant on the scoreline after they produced a much-improved performance compared to recent weeks.
With Simon Miles, Matt Workman, Rob Cox and Bubacaro Diallo dropping down from the first team, Town were a stronger-looking side, yet still found themselves two goals down.
Paul Cook halved the deficit from the penalty spot shortly before half-time and had Thiala Clark not strayed offside following a dominant spell after the break it would have been all-square.
Instead, Avonvale added a third on the counter-attack 20 minutes from time and the fragile confidence at Dursley was exposed as they shipped two more goals late on.
Dursley: K Watson; B Diallo (C Wilkins 75), P Cook, M Workman, R Cox; J Rodgers (R White 65), J Woodward, S Miles; J Warner, T Clark; J Smith (P Guerrero 70).
Goals: Cook pen (40).
