KINGSWOOD'S Ella Stevens, 11, has won the 2017 BirelART UK Cadet Championship, on Sunday.
She finished the Pre Final in fifth place, which was enough for her to take the crown with a race to spare.
Ella has become the first female Easykart/BirelART UK series champion in thirty years since Claire Bogan won the first ever British Cadet Championship back in 1987.
The newly crowned champion did not hold back in the final as she stormed to victory at a sunny, but cold Whilton Mill, Daventry, circuit, setting the fastest lap along the way.
Ella, one of three girls out of the 20-strong field, won the championship by 45 points from Thomas Harvey.
Speaking after the weekend, Ella said "I am so relieved. It has been a tough season but I am so happy to come out on top.
"It is my first championship win, but hopefully the first of many. I would like to thank my Mum, Dad, brother Ben and Alice Powell for all their help, as well as everyone at BirelART UK."
