FOREST GREEN goalkeeper Sam Russell has announced his departure through social media.
The popular 35-year-old goalkeeper rejoined the club in the summer of 2016 and helped them win promotion to the Football League last season.
He made five League Two appearances for the Nailsworth club and has spent the second-half of the season training with the academy.
Russell is expected to say his goodbyes at the club for a second time at tomorrow's final game of the season against Grimsby Town.
Rovers are expected to announce their released list next week.
