GLOUCESTERSHIRE suffered an extraordinary defeat inside two days as they were bowled out for 70 against Derbyshire today.
Hamish Marshall scored 44 but the only other batsman to reach double figures was last man Anthony Ireland with 11 in their 54-run defeat, which surely ended their promotion hopes.
James Franklin took a career-best 7-14 as Derbyshire were bowled out for just 44 in their first innings, but Gloucestershire only managed 156 themselves.
Ireland took 4-59 in Derbyshire’s second innings of 236 before Gloucestershire’s batsmen let the side down once again.
