BEN MORGAN made his first start for England in their Six Nations defeat against Wales at Twickenham yesterday.

The former Dursley player was on the pitch for 72 minutes of an absorbing contest, but within minutes of him going off his Scarlets team-mate Scott Williams scored a brilliant try to secure a 19-12 win for Wales, who clinched the Triple Crown.

Interim head coach Stuart Lancaster took plenty of positives despite his first defeat in charge, after he named the youngest England side in Six Nations history with Morgan, 23, Lee Dickson, 26, and Owen Farrell, 20, starting Tests at No 8, scrum-half and fly-half respectively for the first time.

"Wales are a team who have been together a long time and we have been together for three weeks," Lancaster told the BBC.

"They are a very good defensive side and we caused them problems."

England’s next game is against France at Paris on Sunday, March 11.
