FOREST GREEN kept their slim play-off hopes alive with their third straight Blue Square Bet Premier victory at relegated Bath City on Bank Holiday Monday.

Yan Klukowski bagged his 17th goal of the season, while Reece Styche emerged from the bench to score for the second match running.

Rovers are six points off the play-offs with just three matches remaining.

Dave Hockaday’s side travel to Gateshead on Saturday and then welcome relegated Darlington for their final home game of the season before finishing their campaign at play-off rivals York City.

Rovers started brightly. Michael Uwezu headed straight at keeper Glyn Garner before crossing for Matty Taylor to nod wide.

Taylor then sent a drive wide in the 35th minute, and moments later he fed Klukowski, who forced Garner to save.

Rovers nosed ahead when Lewis Hogg’s back-pass saw the clinical Klukowski nick the ball past Garner and roll it into the empty net from a tight angle.

With 69 minutes gone Hockaday replaced Uwezu with Styche.

It took the striker just five minutes to strike, beating Garner from seven yards after great work by Klukowski on the right.
