A FANTASTIC second half turnaround by Forest Green at Hereford sealed a superb second consecutive win on the road, writes Richard Joyce.

Hereford took the lead through Stefan Stam just a few minutes in but it was soon cancelled out by a fantastic Ben Wright free-kick.

Yan Klukowski then headed in to continue his impressive goal scoring tally in a Rovers shirt and seal up Forest Green's second win over two of last season's Football League competitors in just the space of a few days.

Rovers’ starting eleven yielded just one change from the side that had picked up a win at Macclesfield on Saturday, with Klukowski returning to replace Kieron Forbes.

The greasy surface was always going to make conditions difficult and in under 20 seconds Sam Russell already found himself clambering to collect a Ryan Bowman strike he had originally blocked. Just 30 seconds later and it was the opposition keeper, former Rovers man James Bittner, who was making a good stop.

Wright's inch-perfect set piece found Forest Green skipper Eddie Oshodi, whose header was well blocked away by Bittner.

The game was off to a lively start and the hosts struck first, Stam smashing in at the back post from a corner. Rovers quickly drew level, though, and it was the outstanding quality of Wright's ability with the dead ball that did it. T

he 24-year-old slipped in a terrific edge of the box free kick past Bittner in to the bottom corner to bring the game level. The frantic start slowly simmered out and Rovers began to take control. With it came the goal that saw them take the lead.

Good build-up play on the left wing saw Jamie Collins lift a well placed cross in to the Hereford penalty area and Klukowski swooped to head into the net. Rovers closed out the first half with some sumptuous ball possession, but Russell was still made to make a great stop from Sam Clucas, whose low strike from the left was blocked by the Rovers shot stopper.

Reece Styche was introduced at the start of the second half and was immediately causing his former team-mate Bittner trouble on the tricky surface - forcing the Hereford keeper into a desperate clearance.

The second-half certainly lacked the punch that had possessed the first, which in many ways suited Rovers as the home crowd's frustration began to grow.

Another fine delivery in to the box from Wright caused mayhem in the Hereford box and Eddie Oshodi forced the ball in only for referee Michael Bull to rule it out.

Late replacement Steve Brogan blasted a stoppage time effort well wide as Forest Green held on for another magnificent win.
