Alex Davies made Lancashire’s second-highest individual score in List A cricket as his side defeated Durham by 192 runs in their Royal London One-Day Cup match at Emirates Old Trafford.

Davies hit 147, while Keaton Jennings struck 73 off 83 balls in a 175-run opening stand against his former county, and a total of 314 for seven proved to be far too many for Durham’s batsmen, who replied with 122 all out in 31.1 overs.

Tom Latham top-scored with 26 as all five Lancashire bowlers took two wickets.

Stephen Parry took two for 20, including a caught and bowled of Nathan Rimmington to complete the comprehensive win.

Also in the north group, Birmingham Bears beat Yorkshire by five wickets as Sam Hain struck an unbeaten century.

Replying to the hosts’ total of 247 for nine, which saw Cheteshwar Pujara top score with 73 and Jeetan Patel take four for 33, the Bears had Hain’s 102 to thank for the victory. Jonathan Trott, with 50, and Adam Hose (44) provided able support.

Northamptonshire beat Nottinghamshire by 49 runs in the day’s other north group game.

Josh Cobb hit 78 and Alex Wakeley 72 in Northants’ 339 for nine. Three wickets from Graeme White helped the visitors stay on top of the hosts, for whom Steven Mullaney top-scored with 71.

Gloucestershire claimed a four-wicket victory over Essex at Bristol.

Chris Liddle took four for 57 in Essex’s 287 for seven, with Ashar Zaidi bludgeoning 82 off 77 balls.

But 77 from George Hankins, 87 from Gareth Roderick and 47 from Ryan Higgins saw the hosts home.

Paul Stirling’s 125 steered Middlesex to 313 and a 70-run victory over Kent. Tom Helm took four for 49 as Kent were all out for 243.

Somerset also secured a comprehensive victory, defeating Glamorgan by 83 runs, largely thanks to James Hildreth’s 159 off 125 balls, featuring eight sixes and 13 fours.

Colin Ingram top scored in reply with 85.
