BEN MORGAN and Mako Vunipola were part of the England side that recorded one of the greatest Twickenham victories over world champions New Zealand yesterday.

Former Dursley player Morgan started and Mako Vunipola, who grew up in Thornbury, came on as a replacement in England's incredible 38-21 victory.

England ended New Zealand's 20-game winning streak with their first win over them since 2003, while the 17-point margin was also a record against the All Blacks.

Vunipola tweeted: "What an amazing day great support for the boys."

Morgan helped England dominate in the scrum before being replaced by James Haskell on 57 minutes, although Vunipola's stay on the pitch only lasted eight minutes after he was harshly sin-binned with six minutes left for not stopping after the referee's whistle, with New Zealand grabbing a late consolation try against the 14 men.

England head coach Stuart Lancaster said: "The performance was exactly what we had hoped for. I'm chuffed for the players.

"When the tough times came we stayed together. That team belief with a young England side definitely augurs well for the future."
