Winterbourne United 0 Street 3

THE artificial surface at Oaklands Park ensured that the Winterbourne versus Street fixture was the only one in the Premier Division.

Street, however, will be happier that it went ahead than their hosts as they collected three welcome away points.

Winterbourne started the better of the two sides as they kept the ball for biggest part of the first quarter of an hour.

Street then settled down on the modern surface and after 25 minutes they took the lead, Mark Salter nodding in a well-placed cross.

Street then had the upper hand and doubled the lead before the interval through Lee Smyth, which set Winterbourne back.

The second half saw Street maintain the momentum, although Winterbourne showed some signs of recovery.

However, the third Street goal on 60 minutes from Craig Herrod just about finished the match.

Winterbourne finished strongly with Sam Vile heading against the post and Ash McGrane also hitting the woodwork, but they were unable to score.

Winterbourne are eight places above bottom and in no imminent danger.

Almondsbury UWE 0 Keynsham Town 2

DANNY Lane was sent off as Almondsbury UWE suffered a shock home defeat to struggling Keynsham Town on a windswept afternoon.

With the conditions making creative play all but impossible, it was the visitors who came to terms with them the best and grabbed the opening goal midway through the first half, Luke Lipinski shuffling the ball over the line.

Within five minutes Almondsbury were down to ten men following Lane's red card for a bad humoured shove.

The second half saw the home side create chances but they were unable to convert and Keynsham sealed victory with a late Pat Davidson goal, following a free kick.
