THORNBURY seconds narrowly lost at home to South Gloucs.
The hosts started confidently and might well have been two goals up having had the majority of the play in the first quarter.
Thornbury's young team were well served by Lucy Thomas, Holly Weir, Tessa Wheatley, Izzy Hunter and Lucy Woolnough, whilst Alex Arnold, Elaine Arnold and Jen Arnold were well supported by Tracey Jones and Sarah Brownhill.
Beth Brown, in goal, was prominent with some excellent saves to deny the visitors, who dominated the second half.
Thornbury visit Avonmouth on Saturday for a rearranged league fixture.

THORNBURY'S lack of a goal hungry striker was again noticeable when they were involved in a match which lacked a goal for the second week running.
They continue to show promise with many well worked passing movements but are still searching for a decisive goal or two.
The team face a break from league action on Saturday and travel to play Badgers in Gloucester.
* Thornbury thirds returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Axa.
Miki Stanton and Immy Woolnough were the scorers for Thornbury.
They also have a rearranged league game against Badminton on Saturday at Castle School (10.30am).
