Devizes Town 1 Almondbury UWE 4
ALMONDSBURY UWE travelled home from Wiltshire for the second time in three weeks with maximum points, this time making relatively easy work of victory over Devizes Town.
Within seven minutes of the start of this encounter Almondsbury took the lead with a delightful 25 yard volley from James Fitzpatrick, leaving the Devizes glovesman flat footed.
Within four minutes Devizes looked to be making a contest of it when they caught the visiting defence napping to equalise through Mark Barnes.
Unfortunately for the home side that was as good as it got and just before the half-hour Simon McElroy turned in a well placed cross to put Almondsbury back into the lead.
With half-time approaching the visitors added to their lead when Sam Rees scored.
The second half proved to be a more even affair but with less than five minutes remaining Fitzpatrick opened up the home defence with a penetrating run to make it a 4-1 away win.
