TYTHERINGTON based runner Dan Studley helped the England team win the Armagh International 5k road race in Northern Ireland.

Studley finished 13th in the multi-lap race around The Mall Armagh in a personal best time of 14 minutes, 28 seconds, which placed him third in Great Britian for under 23-year-olds in 5k road races.

He was second England finisher of the four-man team, which also included Richard Weir, Tom Lancashire and Ryan Mcleod.

England saw off competition from Wales and Poland, who came second and third respectively.

The runners faced slightly gusty winds during the race, which may slightly have affected times.

However, the quality of the race was demonstrated by 45 of the finishers completing the course in under 15 minutes, making it one of the fastest 5k road races in Europe.
