THORNBURY Town under-14s showed that they can cope playing against under-15 teams as they beat Bishopston to reach the cup final.

Thornbury's dominance forced a corner and Tom Constable was first to the ball to head back across goal and into the net to give the visitors a deserved lead.

The visitors then doubled their lead when Henry Ogilvie used his pace to get past the home defence and hit a powerful shot that the home keeper failed to hold onto and, as the ball rolled towards goal, his on rushing brother Louis Ogilvie made sure that it crossed the line.

Thornbury were rewarded with a third goal when the impressive Jacob Harper cut inside and unleashed a shot from outside the box that the home keeper could only punch into his own net.

Lawrence Weston drew level and the first half ended with the teams cancelling each other out.

Thornbury began to dominate play and they soon regained the lead with an excellent finish from Mike Tanner, who shot first time with the outside of his boot after a flowing passing move.

The third goal came when Cooper grabbed his second of the game.

Thornbury's fourth came after Jacob Harper sneaked in at the back post to tap in from close range.

The match was wrapped up in style when the hard working Sam Downes let a shot fly from way out on the left wing to see the ball hit the back of the net.
