Vicky Ball narrowly missed a chance to equalise, though it was Thornbury keeper Sophie Wilkins who was prominent when making numerous saves to deny the home side.

Poppy Woolnough and Lucy Thomas continued to try hard, Shelley Beurschgens was prominent in a more defensive role and Rachael Gardener roamed the whole pitch throughout.

Sian Fuller gave her usual committed performance despite suffering from a heavy cold and stiffness.

Yate managed to finally get a second goal through Jen Pearce following an excellent advantage from the umpire.

Yate thirds were comfortable 5-0 winners over a disappointing Thornbury second team in Division Two.

Yate's goals were scored by Lucy Saunders (2), the experienced Alex Bissex, Natasha Child and Ciara Blackstock.
