A DAN Davis half-century led Thornbury to a three-wicket opening day victory at Ilminster in Premier Two of the West of England Premier League.
Davis hit 70, while Richard Trotman scored 40 as Thornbury surpassed their target of 149 in just 28.4 overs.
Ilminster found scoring runs more difficult and could only manage 148-8 from their 50 overs, with Trotman and Danny Slade taking two wickets apiece for Thornbury.
