Thornbury (141) lost to Clevedon (144-3) by seven wickets.
THORNBURY fell to their first defeat of the season at home to Clevedon on Saturday.
After a rain delayed start, Thornbury were put into bat. Opener Nick Stovold compiled a patient 37, but lost wickets around him and his most meaningful partnership was with skipper Richard Trotman (17) with the pair putting on 40.
Marc Lezar joined Stovold at the crease and smashed 26 off just 21 balls but once he was out it triggered a collapse with Thornbury losing their last six wickets for just 35 runs, Jake Rowe taking 4-34.
Although there was some early joy with the ball for Danny Slade (1-21) and Lezar (1-9), Clevedon cantered to their target in less than 30 overs, with Mike Hanley hitting an unbeaten 56.
Gloucestershire's Tom Shrewsbury took the other wicket for Thornbury.
