Almondsbury 2nds (100) lost to Stothert & Pitt (102-7) by three wickets

ALMONDSBURY managed to rustle 11 players together on Saturday, which was already a better achievement than the previous weekend.

The combination of regulars, injured players and those that have retired combined to put up a good fight against Stothert and Pitt on Saturday.

Almondsbury skipper Tom Burgess lost the toss and found his team batting on a more than helpful bowling surface.

The hosts collapsed to 61-9 but Matt Smith and Avin Litt stood firm to take the score to three figures and give the Almondsbury bowlers a chance.

This they did as Stothert & Pitt collapsed to 48-7.

Skipper Jay Morris then took control for the visitors as they held on to win by three wickets.

Chris Slade took three wickets for Almondsbury, Fraser Pepall 2-12, with Matt Smith and Andy Taylor claiming one each.
