Stroud 4ths (126-7) lost to Charfield 2nds (127-9) by one wicket
CHARFIELD’S remarkable record of close finishes continued with their third one-wicket victory of the month and their second against Stroud.
This time it was Joss Beeley who bludgeoned Charfield to the brink of victory, with eight sixes in his 83.
The run rate ceased to be a factor but Tim Roe’s 7-18 demolished the innings.
To the delight of the home crowd, Roe and Mike Dannenburg bowled out three batsmen with the scores level.
Finally veteran Mike Colborn, threatening immediate retirement, found the one extra required, after earlier getting to 19 wickets for the season.
For Stroud it had been captain Rick Carman (42*) who top-scored once again after being put in to bat.
