THREE of the Thornbury Running Club's quicker runners made trips to parkruns on Saturday.

Andrew Darton was again at Montacute, near Yeovil, where he ran a personal best for that course in 19:11.

At Little, Stoke Garry Slater had a good run in 18:42, edging closer to his personal best, and completing the course ahead of Paul Horsfall, who was a first-timer at any parkrun event and can be expected to improve upon his time of 18:59.

Arthur Renshaw took part in the Little Go-Tri Duathlon at Tockington, also on Saturday, over a 2k run, 15k bike, 2k run course and finished in 47:39, 13th of 36 competitors.

The Meningitis Now FiveValleys Walk was held on Sunday and as usual a small Thornbury contingent made it a reason for a leisurely 21-mile run.

John Grimsey rarely misses the event, and this year was joined by Nigel Hale, Nancy Harding, Sue Pascoe, Arthur Renshaw and Ros Rowland.

Thornbury Running Club meet at 7pm on Thursday evenings at the Thornbury Leisure Centre and new members of all abilities are always welcome.
