Thornbury 0 Lydney 2nds 1
FOR the second week running Thornbury went down by a solitary goal.
The return of captain Sian Fuller and the experienced Amanda McGarry helped the young home side to continue to impress with a pleasing display against a strong Lydney outfit.
The game was level at half-time and the leaders scored the decisive goal midway through the second half.
Thornbury look forward to the game against Wotton-under-Edge on Saturday at KLB School, 10.30am.
An under-strength Thornbury second team started their Division Two game at BAC seconds with just eight players and, despite being at a numerical disadvantage, gave a committed performance to go down 3-1.
The Thornbury goal was a well taken one by the enthusiastic Rachel Underwood.
Thornbury face a tough encounter on Saturday when they entertain the young Clifton fourths side at Castle School, 12.30pm.
A very young Thornbury thirds side were forced to play without a keeper against Bristol and suffered a heavy 12-0 defeat in Division Three.
Despite losing, the young team, guided by Angela Greenslade and Lorna Thornton, gave a good account of themselves and face another hard game against Wick seconds on Saturday.
