THORNBURY Town got back to winning ways when they ground out a 1-0 victory at Warmley Rangers.

Ben King in Thornbury’s defence showed great anticipation and desire, giving good support to the hard-working George Rowen on the flank.

Thornbury had a couple of sharp chances and Alex Riggs hit the post, whilst at the other end keeper Henry Thomas was quick off of his line to deny a good Warmley chance.

The game was settled ten minutes from the end when the ball broke to Thornbury striker George Baker and he smashed in an unstoppable shot from just outside the box, making it five in five this season.

Thornbury: Thomas, King, Pearmain, Gregory, Rowen, Moss, Jefferson, Riggs, Baker, O’Brien, Gaynor.

THORNBURY put in a much-improved performance but were eventually beaten by a good Keynsham team.

The visitors fell behind when a through ball caught the defence out.

Minutes later the home side extended their lead when Thornbury were caught in possession in their own half and had several chances to tackle the striker, however his determination saw him score neatly to make it 2-0.

The second half again was closely fought with both sides creating chances and Thornbury man of the match Sam Downes was working hard to ensure the visitors did not concede.

However, the home team scored their third of the match with a well taken shot.
