West of England Premier One 2nd XI League
Thornbury 2nds 250-9 lost to Bristol CC 283-1 by 33 runs

THORNBURY Seconds were up against it when the bottom-placed side in the second XI Premier One division took on the leaders Bristol CC.
And that is how it turned out as Bristol dominated the batting and came away with victory.
Thornbury were asked to field after Bristol won the toss. And the visitors made the right decision on what turned out to be an absolutely excellent batting track.
A fast outfield and a short boundary meant a high scoring game was on the cards but, from a bowler’s point of view, it was not good with an extremely flat wicket.
Bristol put on 180 for their first wicket and went on to amass 247-1 with the opener carrying his bat for 105.
The only wicket taker was Greg Malitte who bowled an opener round his legs.
And poor fielding meant Bristol got twenty or thirty runs more than they should have as they finished on Bristol 283-1.
Malitte changed the batting order and played a master stroke-maker Neil Willis-Stovold in to open.
Willis-Stovold proceeded to smash the ball around the ground on his way to 130.
Willis-Stovold was only out after Webb smashed one back at the bowler who stuck his foot out and diverted it onto the stumps for a run out. Thorns lost wickets quickly and ended on 250-9.
